Israeli Strike Kills Senior Hezbollah Commander

(MENAFN) The Israeli military announced on Wednesday that it had eliminated a high-ranking Hezbollah operative through a drone attack conducted in southern Lebanon.

According to the army’s report, the strike targeted the town of Babliyeh on Tuesday, resulting in the death of Hussein Ali Muzhir, who was identified as the “Head of Firepower of the Zahrani sector in Hezbollah's Badr Unit.”

The military alleged that Muzhir had played a key role in orchestrating rocket assaults against Israeli areas and was actively engaged in “coordinating rocket fire toward Israeli territory.”

It also claimed he was recently attempting to restore Hezbollah’s artillery strength in southern Lebanon.

So far, Hezbollah has not released any statement regarding the military’s assertion.
The strike's impact was confirmed by Lebanon’s Health Ministry, which reported that one individual had died in the Babliyeh drone operation on Tuesday.

Tensions between Israeli forces and the Hezbollah movement have been intensifying, escalating into a full-blown conflict last September.

Despite the implementation of a ceasefire agreement in November, Israeli forces have continued launching frequent strikes in southern Lebanon, claiming they are aimed at disrupting Hezbollah’s operations.

In the months following the ceasefire, Lebanese officials have documented close to 3,000 breaches of the truce by Israel.

These violations reportedly include the deaths of at least 236 people and injuries sustained by more than 540 others.

As part of the truce terms, Israel was expected to complete a full withdrawal from southern Lebanese territory by January 26.

However, due to Tel Aviv’s refusal to adhere to the agreement, the deadline was pushed back to February 18.
