Israel Lifts Security Restrictions, Schools to Reopen After Iran Escalation

(MENAFN) Israel has started easing a range of security restrictions that were introduced after a recent surge in hostilities with Iran, marking a partial return to routine activities across the country.

According to reports, the Israeli military announced on Monday that most nationwide emergency measures would be lifted following the brief exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran. The changes are set to allow schools and other educational institutions to reopen in person starting Tuesday morning.

The army’s Home Front Command issued updated instructions stating that educational activities will resume from 6 a.m. local time on Tuesday, signaling a broad relaxation of safety measures in many areas.

Authorities noted that while most of the country will see restrictions eased, some limitations will remain in place in communities located near the Lebanese border. In those areas, schools will continue operating under conditions requiring access to nearby shelters.

The guidelines also permit limited public gatherings, allowing up to 100 people outdoors and 400 people indoors in border communities.

The move comes after a short but intense escalation in regional tensions that began on Sunday.

Separately, Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed, at the request of US President Donald Trump, to suspend strikes on Iran while continuing military operations in Lebanon.
