Trump Vows More Military Action Against Iran as Negotiations Stall
Speaking at the White House, Trump indicated that additional action was imminent, saying American forces had already dealt a significant blow to Iranian targets and would continue doing so.
"hit them hard yesterday, and we're going to hit them again hard today," Trump said, suggesting that military operations would proceed despite concerns about their impact on efforts to secure a formal agreement ending the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran.
Referring to the helicopter incident, Trump added: "We're going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard … based on the helicopter … They shot down a very, very incredible, actually an incredible machine."
Addressing the status of diplomatic talks, he expressed frustration with the pace of negotiations, saying: "We'll see what happens with the deal. We were really close to a deal, but they keep tapping us along, they keep playing us for suckers."
According to reports, Trump later convened a meeting with his national security team in the White House Situation Room to review potential next steps regarding Iran. Reports indicated that one proposal under consideration involved a large-scale but limited-duration military operation designed to increase pressure on Tehran during ongoing negotiations.
